Design Team member Kate is back with a fun handmade Halloween card idea that uses basic supplies you probably already have in your stash. This easy Halloween card uses basic cardstock and circle nesting dies.
Easy Halloween Card Supplies
- Encore Textured Cardstock in Lemon Twist, Goldfish, and Snowy White
- Bazzill Smoothies in Blackberry Swirl and Fig Swirl
- Infinity Circle dies from Hero Arts
Kate used her nested circle dies to create these adorable candy corn die cuts. Begin by choosing the largest circle die in the set, then count 4 dies down in size and choose the one after that. Then skip another 4 circles and chose the next one after that (so 4 circles apart for each layer). This seemed to be the perfect spacing to create even colors.
Next, glue one circle on top of the other centered with the largest circle on the bottom.
Flip over the circle and divide the circle into 6 even parts. The easiest way to do this is to cut the circle in half, put the pieces back together and then draw an "X" (see photo).
Use a corner rounder to round off the edges of the candy corn. You can easily do this with a pair of scissors. Now you have six candy corn embellishments to use for your Halloween cardmaking.
Want to jump on the non traditional Halloween colors trend? Swich up the yellow orange and white for pink, lavender and white. Don't forget you can use your specialty cardstock, too!
