Handmade Christmas Card Tutorial
To get started, I chose a large background die with an ornament shape inlayed in it; however, you can pick whichever large holiday die in your stash. Then, I cut a 4.25” x 5.5” (A2) card panel out of Stardust White Speckled Cardstock and die-cut the ornament die out of the paper.
Next, I cut a A2 sized card panel out of a double-sided adhesive sheet and adhered the die-cut background panel to the adhesive sheet. I did this process 4 more times to get 5 card panels. This basically gave me the white card front with die cut shapes that were sticky on the inside, like a "sticky puzzle base". I adhered these card fronts to card bases, still with no designs inside the holes.
Choices, choices, choices! Now this is where the fun began! I chose several different Encore Foil papers and colors to inlay/color my ornaments. After choosing the papers, I die-cut the die several times to get various colors of the different parts of the ornaments.
Once the die-cutting was done, I placed the die cuts inside the sticky die cut shapes. After all the adhering was completed and the cards were made, I stamped several different holiday sentiments, die-cut them out, and used foam adhesive to adhere them one by one on the 5 cards.
Five cards made, check, and done! This is one easy way to make several cards, the same, but different, and mix and match colors without wasting foil paper. Happy Holiday card making season!
Until then, thanks for stopping by :)
