Last Minute DIY Christmas Gift Idea

Last Minute DIY Christmas Gift Idea

Hello 12x12 Cardstock Shop and Dreaming Tree Fans. Christi here from Scrapping For Tranquility to bring you the monthly collaboration between these two wonderful companies. It is so fun to use the best cardstock with the best cutting files! Today I have an idea for you for a last minute Christmas gift!

paper purse for Chrsimas gift

I made the Festive Holiday Tote from Dreaming Tree. It was very fun and not real hard to make. This santa inspired paper purse is the perfect gift bag for a small treat or gift.

It comes with faux stitching around the front and back panels but I decided I wanted a little more to the bag and hand stitched mine using the back stitch. I am very pleased with the way it came out. I even had my 9-year-old grandson help me with the stitching and he can’t wait to stitch another project!

I didn’t stop there! I wanted to use this as a gift bag and really wanted to add something else to go with this, so I also made this makeup gift card holder.

I decided every girl needs a compact in her purse so I made the Makeup Gift Card Holder in the red to match the purse and added the same flower (but smaller) as I used on the gift bag.

Keeping with the red and gold theme, I added some pretty gold and white stripe paper to the front of the gift card holder.

I have two daughters and thought I could put a small lotion, soap and loofah in the gift bag with a gift certificate to a makeup store. They are both in their 30’s and very hard to buy for so this would be a perfect gift.
