Handmade St. Patricks Day Shaker Card Making Tutorial

Kate made this first rainbow card but then realized she had the perfect shaker bits to coordinate.

Handmade St. Patricks day card with colorful rainbow and shamrocks

The Spring Shaker Bit set with the flowers has little bunnies, rainbows and tiny shamrocks. To turn her original design into a shaker card, Kate assembled another card in the exact same manor and used a rectangle die to trim out a space to become the shaker panel. This technique can be used with pretty much any design, just cut a shape from the center to be the shaker window.

That center rectangle becomes the background for the rainbow shaker card.

Next, add acetate to the back of the frame piece. This becomes your shaker window! Then, add foam tape to the back of the frame. Place your shaker bits onto the rainbow background making sure they stay within the rainbow picture so they will be within the bounds of the foam.

Peel off the foam tape backing and place your frame around the shaker bits.

You can then add diecut embellishments (the clouds, sentiment and shamrocks) to the outside of the shaker card. Now you know how to make a cute St. Patricks Day handmade shaker card!
