Patterned Paper Fun Fold Card Template

Design Team Member Kate here with another fun fold card template. I often fall in love with both sides of a patterned paper and this overlapping fun fold card is great to show off both sides of those pretty papers.

Supplies:

fun fold card template cutting instructions

To get started, cut your cardstock as follows (see photo above for help):

  • Patterned paper: 5 1/2 x 6 inches scored on the 5 1/2 inch side at 1 3/4
  • Mini card (solid cardstock): 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 scored (in half) at 2 3/4
  • Inside piece for writing your sentiment: 2 1/2 x 4 inches (if your mini card is colored cardstock)
  • Layering Rectangle for outside of mini card: 2 1/2 x 4 inches

Once you cut all your pieces, assembly is easy. The patterned paper piece (5 1/2 x 6) is your card base. Adhere the smaller mini card centered on the larger base piece.

The mini card should be adhered so the patterned paper flap overlaps the inside of the mini card. The patterned paper flap gets folded up first, then the top of the mini card is folded down (kind of like an accordion).

This card can be landscape or portrait depending on how you decorate the top of the mini card. Decorate the mini card with stamps, die cuts or stickers.

If you don't have a die cutting machine, this card template would be a great design for our Simple Stories and Carta Bella Collection kits. You could use the included ephemera, stickers and cut apart cards to decorate the front of the mini card, and use all the papers to make lots of cards.
