New Year's Day Disco Ball Shaped Card

Hello! Kandice here, “Happy New Year”! Time to ring in the new year with this Cricut made project! Get festive with me as I share this shiny bright disco ball shaped handmade New Years card! I used specialty holographic cardstock from 12x12 Cardstock Shop to add tons of sparkle and shine. 

Handmade New Year Card With Holographic Cardstock

• Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue
• iCraft 3D foam squares

Let's get started! Using my Cricut Explore Air 2 cutting machine, I searched for a disco ball image on Cricut Design Space and inserted image #M505DDC7F into my Canvas. To make a card base, I inserted a circle shape image, sized it to 4.95”x 5”, (the same size as the disco ball image) and duplicated it.

I then aligned straight the two circles, one on top of the other (in a vertical line), welded them together to make one card base and scored it down the middle.

After the card base was created, I then focused on the disco ball card panel by inserting another circle image (4.95”x 5”) onto my canvas. Since the disco ball has square cutouts, I wanted to adhere the disco ball image to the solid circle image.

Next, I typed the words “So Very”, “Happy New Year” and “2025”, using fonts Quarter Note and BFC Funhouse and used the offset setting for each. 

After all of the pieces were cut out using the Cricut Explore Air 2 machine and various 12x12 Cardstock shop papers, I adhered the paper cuts to the card base.

This Cricut card idea allows you to not only celebrate the new year, but you can change the text and celebrate any occasion coming in the year ahead!
