Three Ways to Use Vellum Cardstock on Handmade Cards
You've got vellum...but you probably forget to use it, right?
Design Team member, Kate (@katedeignancards on Instagram), is here to remind you why vellum cardstock is so amazing. I've got three ways to use your vellum!
Ideas for Using Vellum on Handmade Cards
At 12x12 Cardstock Shop we carry both plain white vellum cardstock and colored vellum cardstock in lots of pretty colors, so if you don't already have some in your stash, you can order vellum easily.
1. Use Vellum as part of your layering dies.
Lots of die sets out on the market now have multiple layers. Use your vellum as one of those layers or add an extra layer of vellum for a bit of extra texture. These "Make Some Noise" dies from Concord and 9th have lots of layers for dimension and texture. I added a layer of Pearl Translucent Vellum as part of the noise makers.

2. Use Vellum as a backdrop
Use a strip (or circle, etc) to highlight your focal point (or focal points). I wanted to use this Bazzill Licorice Twist Foil Dot card stock, but the food diecuts didn't quite stand out against the dark background. A strip of vellum solves this problem and helps define the images.

Bazzill Card Shoppe cardstock in Wax Lips, Peanut Cluster, Grapefruit Bliss, Easter Grass
3. Use Vellum instead of Acetate for a Shaker Card
You may not see the shaker bits through the vellum, but you can sure hear them! A small piece of vellum behind the party scene hides the shaker bits and gives the recipient a little surprise.
Supplies: "Looking Glass Birthday" dies from Hero Arts
Bright Stripes patterned paper by American Crafts
Bazzill Card Shoppe in Marshmallow
Copic Markers
Hopefully this inspires you to pull out your vellum paper and use it on your next project!
