This project is super simple to assemble, and I’ve included the Cricut project link below so it is even easier for anyone to make this if you are creating with a Cricut.
You can still recreate this with images you find elsewhere or adapt the idea to something you have already designed. In essence you need a circular shape with a few focal images (unicorn, paint splatter, number 16 in this case). That way you can weave your glow sticks around the circle and glue them to the back of the focal pieces.
SIDE NOTE: I used my Cricut Maker 3 to engrave the craft plastic with the words “Happy Birthday.” If you don’t have the Maker, no problem, but you will still want to cut the plastic piece out because the paint splatter needs that piece to be glued on to. You can also draw the words on with a Cricut pen or cut out the words in vinyl to apply to the plastic.
Step 1: Cut out all the pieces. TIP: To cut the glitter cardstock I used the setting Kraft Board, more pressure, and a deep cut blade.
Step 2. Glue the pink welded backing piece onto the plastic.
Step 3. Next, glue the pink double-circle onto the backing piece.
Step 4. Glue the glitter yellow circle onto the double-pink circles.
Step 5. Use Double Sided Foam to adhere the paint splatter to the circles
Step 6. Glue the holographic banner outline to the white banner.
Step 7. Use Double sided foam adhesive to adhere the banner to the topper
Step 8. Layer up the unicorn with either glue or double sided foam and adhere it to the topper
Step 9. Use Double sided foam adhesive to layer the numbers and adhere them to the topper
Step 10. Glue miniature rhinestones on the unicorn for the unicorns horn
Step 11. Use a hot glue gun to adhere a cake stick onto the back.
Step 12. Use a hot glue gun to adhere some glow sticks around the topper. Break and shake these as close to the party as possible since the light won't last very long.
