These super cold days have Design Team member Kate thinking of Spring!  The double sided kite/cloud paper inspired this double flap shaped card. If you've ever wondered how to make a shaped card without a Cricut machine, this tutorial is for you. Kate shares how to make

You will need two A2 card fronts...one will open left to right and the other will open right to left.  Our Bazzill Card Shoppe paper is perfect for card bases and well as all the die cutting needed for this card.  It's very sturdy and will hold up in the mail.

Using your cloud dies, think about making two different flap cards.  You want them to open in opposite directions but close to show different parts of the clouds. 

I cut the fronts of the card bases, being careful to stop right on the fold.  Don't have cloud dies?  You can free-hand some clouds, making sure they are different heights. 

Next, you will nestle the inner card (on the right) into the outer card (on the left).  I like to trim a sliver of paper off the inner card for a better fit.  Adhere the backs of the cards with a strong adhesive (Bearly Arts Glue works great for this!) 

Now all that is left is the decorating.  This cloud flap idea would work great with a sun or a rainbow, and even birds! 

I adhered the kite to various places on the clouds and was sure to add a solid white diecut to the back of the kite for stability.  This is also where you can write your message (on the back of the kite) .
