How To Make A Faker Shaker Card
Love shaker cards, but don't want to mess with layering foam?
Design Team Member Kate here with you today. I've been seeing faker shaker cards all over the place, so today I am here with my own version. This faker shaker eliminates the use of foam tape and all the construction and bulk that comes along with it. Using this technique, you can really make your shaker element any shape/size.
Most faker shaker cards use clear acetate, but I decided to use some of our printed acetate.
Supplies:
- Clearly Posh Black Stripe on acetate by WRMK
- Sirio Ultra Black
- Gold Coins Glitter Luxe cardstock
- Bazzill Smoothies Cardstock in Coconut Swirl
- Leaf die from Spellbinders
- Hello die from Altenew
- Bone Folder (optional)
How to Create A Faker Shaker Card
To create a faker shaker card like mine, cut a rectangle to the desired size of your shaker element. I used a white rectangle.Cut your acetate big enough to wrap around that shape.
Next, use a strong adhesive to attach the acetate to the back of the solid rectangle on 3 of the sides. You may need to trim the corners to avoid a bulky corner fold. It is extremely helpful to use a bone folder to crease the acetate.
Fill your pocket with sequins and close up the pocket. Adhere the faker shaker pocket to a card front. Now just embellish!!
