Cricut Card Making : Trophy Card
Hello! Kandice here, “Let’s get personal”! Today, I’m sharing a personal project that includes a free Cricut image and space to celebrate or praise anyone in your life.
Recently, I learned my manager at my employment is leaving for another position. To show my appreciation, I created a trophy card, using my Cricut Explore cutting machine.
Supplies:
- Bianco Pearl Holographic Cardstock
- Fine Gold Neenah Stardream
- Burgundy Glitter Luxe Cardstock
- Encore Textured Cardstock in Parsley
- Encore Frosted Window Holographic
- White Mixed Sized Pearl Embellishments
- Adhesive - Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue
First, I searched for a free trophy image on Cricut Design Space and inserted image #MD4C48B4 into my Canvas. I created an offset using the offset tool (which basically just makes an outline of the shape, but slightly larger).
In order to make a name plate to use on the bottom of the trophy card, I used a rectangle shape and welded it to that offset layer for my card base.
After the rectangle shape was welded to the bottom, I made a duplicate of my card base, flipped it vertically so they were stacked one on top of another, then aligned the two trophy card shapes so they were centered, and welded the two together. This made a foldable shaped card base (in white in the photo).
After the card base was created, I then focused on the cut out trophy layer. I sliced my manager’s initials out of the card panel, created a separate name plate and sliced the phrase “Best Boss Ever” out of it, and also used the rectangle shape (same size as the name plate) to use a backing for the “Best Boss Ever” phase.
Then, I used the equal sign shape to make decorative lines for the top of the trophy shape and found a paid rose image #M460D8AD1 to use as decoration for the trophy card.
Once all of the pieces were cut out using the Cricut Explore machine, I adhered the paper cuts to the card base and used tiny pearl embellishments to highlight the letters, “B, O and R”.
This project allows you to get personal! You can switch out the initials, use different phrases for the name plate and use whatever colors you like for the roses! You can make this card meaningful to you and the recipient worthy of this trophy!
Thanks for stopping by, until then :)
