Kate's back with another fun fold card design. She is calling this one the Buckle Fold card template.
This fun fold card design has a unique twist. The front of the flap can be decorated with a stamped or die cut image and the inside of the front flap can hold your sentiment. It's a handmade card with a twist.
Supplies:
- Vicki Boutin : Beautiful Blooms patterned paper (SOLD OUT, but similar style here)
- Bazzill Smoothies in Moody Blue, Aurora Bora Blue, Pastel Blue
- "Buckle" Dies from Stampin' Up! (retired), Floral Dies: MyMomenta
Buckle Fold Card Cutting Instructions
1. Begin with a side folding A2 card base (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") and cut a 2" x 5 1/2" strip off the front of the card. DO NOT DISCARD! This piece will become the "belt".
2. Take the "belt" piece (that you just cut off the card front) and score in half at 2 3/4" Attach it to the inside of the card base with the fold lined up against the edge of the card as shown in the photo above.
3. Cut a piece of light colored cardstock to 4 x 5 1/4" for the inside of the card for a place to write your message. Attach this on the inside of the card base, covering the part of the belt that is adhered to the card base as shown in photo above.
4. For the "buckle"... You can really use any shape (circle, rectangle, heart). You will need to cut two of them, one for the front and one to cover and hide the "belt". The loose end of the "belt" in sandwiched in between the two "buckles" as shown in the photo above.
5. Trim your double-sided patterned paper to 3 pieces that measure 2" x 5 1/4" each. You can mix and match where these pieces will go and which side will show. Attach one of these on the inside right side of the card, then attach the other two to the smaller card base flap, one on the inside, one on the front.
Decorate the front of the buckle with stamped images or die cuts, and decorate the inside of the buckle with a stamped sentiment.
This is such an easy and fun card template that looks way more complicated than it is.
