Whether you're cheering on your favorite NBA or WNBA star, or planning a slam-dunk celebration for a little baller, this DIY jersey box makes the perfect keepsake or party favor. Let's make this basketball themed party favor DIY together.
DIY Basketball Themed Party Favor Gift Box
As always, I like to sort my cut pieces and work with the smaller details first so then I can breeze through the assembly process. I’ll be starting by gluing all of my smaller details together and then setting aside.

Paper Craft Tip: How To Score Your Projects For Easy Piece Placement
For the front of the Jersey box, I decided to score the name and age on the box so that everything is perfectly aligned and spaced out. To do this, duplicate your final layer, (if you’re using offsets, it will be your last offset) and change the “basic cut” to “score” and then “attach”. (Cricut Design Space users)

Next, we’re going to start assembling the top lid. To do this you’ll want to separate the long pieces with the small circle cutouts and the from that has the scored name and age. Begin by folding along the scored lines. Once everything is folded, you can line it up along the jersey so you can see where the pieces connect, and which parts need to be curved for the sleeves and neck area. I suggest using a sharpie or stylus to help give you the curve.

Now that we know where each strip is, we can start gluing. It’s a personal preference whether you’d like the texture to show inside the bottom of the box or not, personally I chose to flip it over since the side pieces are smooth. Again, double check that the jersey piece you are about to glue has a circle on it. We’ll be adding glue to the strips and placing it underneath the jersey along each side. I started with a long side and went around the curved sleeves. For the second part, I felt it was easier to start gluing at the shoulder, and then gluing the end to the tab at the other shoulder. I was then able to add glue to the “neck” tabs and using a glue bottle and some pressure, align it so it glues perfectly in place. Finally, you can place the third and final strip to complete the sides of the box.

Since our lid is almost complete, we can now make use of the accent pieces we put together earlier and glue them onto the scored jersey, which we will then glue on top to hide the glue tabs on the underside of the jersey. Then set aside.

For the bottom of the box, we’ll repeat all the steps we did for the last section, except we wont be decorating the bottom of the box. The pieces you have left will have a square cut out.

That’s all! Super easy and such a memorable gift box or party favor. Can’t wait to see what colors you’ll use for yours!
